چکیده

This paper presents techniques to address static and dynamic errors in high performance continuous-time (CT), modulators. The inter-symbol interference (ISI)model is presented and existing ISI reduction techniques are reviewed. A novel technique has been presented which can high-pass shape both static mismatch and ISI error of each element of a multi-bit DAC while decorrelating the instantaneous number of transitions from the input signal. The proposed technique can easily be extended to higher order shaping for both static mismatch and ISI errors. Simulation results show that the proposed technique can improve DAC linearity significantly in presence of both static mismatch and ISI error.

Dynamic Element Matching With Signal-Independent Element Transition Rates for Multibit ΔΣ Modulators

Thispaperpresentsanoveldynamicelementmatching (DEM) technique for multi-bit digital-to-analog converters (DACs). The proposed technique can address errors due to both static element mismatch and dynamic inter-symbol-interference (ISI). The proposed technique ensures no ISI-induced distortion even at large signal amplitudes by de-correlating the instantaneous number of DAC transitions from the s...

Image Retrieval Using Dynamic Weighting of Compressed High Level Features Framework with LER Matrix

In this article, a fabulous method for database retrieval is proposed.  The multi-resolution modified wavelet transform for each of image is computed and the standard deviation and average are utilized as the textural features. Then, the proposed modified bit-based color histogram and edge detectors were utilized to define the high level features. A feedback-based dynamic weighting of shap...

Efficient determination of feedback DAC errors for digital correction in ΔΣ A/D converters

Feedback DAC errors in a ∆Σ analog to digital converter are determined by measuring the idle channel output and removing the DAC elements one by one. This method requires simple computation, does not add excess loop delay, and requires no reconfiguration of the ∆Σ modulator. The errors so determined can be used to correct the output codes in the digital domain or the DAC elements in the analog ...

Linearity Enhancement of Multi-bit A/d and D/a Converters Using Data Weighted Averaging

A dynamic element matching algorithm, data weighted averaging, is introduced for use in multi-bit data converters. Using this algorithm, distortion spectra from DAC linearity errors are shaped by rst-order noise shaping, resulting in a dynamic range improvement of 9 dB/octave when DAC errors dominate. Combining this technique with random dithering eliminates the aliasing of the DAC errors into ...

A Low-Power Single-Bit Continuous-Time ΔΣ Converter with 92.5 dB Dynamic Range for Biomedical Applications

A third-order single-bit CT-ΔΣ modulator for generic biomedical applications is implemented in a 0.15 μm FDSOI CMOS process. The overall power efficiency is attained by employing a single-bit ΔΣ and a subthreshold FDSOI process. The loop-filter coefficients are determined using a systematic design centering approach by accounting for the integrator non-idealities. The single-bit CT-ΔΣ modulator...
